Part 5, November
2008 Land Cruise News
Part
4 left us at Kodachrome State Park in Utah. From there we drove to
Canyonlands National Park. We entered on the north end in what they call
"The Island in the Sky".
On
the way, we spotted a small herd of Pronghorn Antelope. |
We
stopped to look at this abandoned building. It was interesting in that
it was made much like the Puebloan Granaries we have been looking at with cut
stones and mud. |
The
drive was fabulous with changing colors in the land and the trees. |
We
stopped for lunch at a beautiful state park near Fruita. |
There
was an orchard and lots of deer just roaming around. |
We
continued on. Around every turn was a new color of landscape.
Here were greys and mauves. |
Everything
in this area was a pale yellow. |
Then
came the red landscape. |
And
then we entered Canyonlands National Park. |
The
sunset that night in the Willow Flats campground was something to behold. |
